Unity Works is home to two completely unique Live Events spaces; our Major and Minor Halls.
The Major Hall
Over one hundred years old, this historic hall has been refitted and refurbished to the highest spec. Featuring original stained glass windows, high vaulted ceilings and a Canadian Maple sprung floor, our Major Hall has a standing capacity of 750 and seated capacity of 500, including a 60 seater balcony making it suitable for anything from the loudest indie bands to pastoral folk, from beer festivals to fashion shows.
Hires come with free use of our two Green Rooms, including shower and toilet facilities and our bar, stocked with real ale, craft beers and much more as required.
The Minor Hall
Adjacent to our Major Hall is our Minor Hall, also with it’s own bar, and capable of holding 150 people for a standing event and 100 for a seated. It is an excellent space for private parties and intimate comedy and music events.
In our first 12 months of opening we have hosted the likes of The Cribs, Frank Turner, Embrace, The Damned, British Sea Power, Seth Lakeman, New Model Army, John Cooper Clarke, Turin Brakes, The Wedding Present plus Wakefield Festival Of Beer, the first ever Wakefield Comic Con and much more.

Unity House Car Park
Load in via double fire doors, push up to lift then a flat push onto the auditorium floor. Please note the lift rating and dimensions are:
Door: 90mm (W) X 200mm (H)
Internal: 206mm (W) X 154mm (D)
We have parking available for 3 splitters or one bus. Please contact the venue well in advance to arrange dispensation for additional/larger vehicles. The venue is situated next to a council car park with no height restrictions. £5.00 for 10 hours, free after 6pm. Trucks must tip then go to Quebec Street car park (10 mins walk from venue). £2.00 for 16 hours.

Dressing Rooms/Production Office
The main backstage area has 1 large green room with shower facilities, 1 additional smaller dressing room, 1 toilet. Access via a stage door is possible without entering any public areas of the venue. Extra dressing rooms and production offices may be used with prior notice, subject to availability.

Our standard arrangement includes one in house technician/sound engineer for 8 hours. Additional operators for both sound and lighting will be supplied on request.
Any drapes/cloths (including backdrops) brought into the venue must carry the relevant fire retardancy certificates. Any electrical equipment must carry relevant PAT test certificates. Please note a walkway of 1.2m must be kept clear either side of the stage and through the backstage corridoor as a fire route.
Live music must be finished by 11pm unless prior arrangements made.
